Contest Details

Here's how the contest will work:.  The contest will begin Monday, November 22nd and will run through Friday, Jauary1st.  The raffle drawing will be held on Saturday, January 2nd.  For every day that you exercise, you get one entry for the raffle.  A day of exercise is considered a minimum of 30 consecutive minutes of cardio, or weight lifting activity.  You can have a maximum of one entry per day.  The purpose of this contest is to promote healthy exercise habits, not obsessive ones.  So, while I think it's great if you have a schedule that allows for several rounds of exercise per day, you still are only allowed ONE entry per DAY.

I will post a blog check-up every Sunday on the home page of this blog.  Each contestant will be responsible for leaving a comment at the end of the blog post with how many entries they accumulated for the week.  At the end of the contest I will tally up the entries for each contestant and we will have a raffle for cash prizes.  Obviously the more entries you have, the better your chances of winning.

Although we had several awesome non-cash prizes donated last year, after much contemplation, I thought this year we would just do all cash prizes so that we could involve as many people possible, both local and non-local.  That way, I don't have to worry about how I would deliver the donated prizes to someone who lives out of state.  It's a lot easier to just mail cash. ;)  If you have any ideas or suggestions regarding this, feel free to leave a comment.

I upped the entry fee this year to $10.  I thought a bigger pot of gold would be more motivating for everyone to get in as many days of exercise as possible.  I must receive your entry fee by Sunday, November 21st.  If you miss the deadline, you can still join the contest, but you won't be able to count any exercise days you completed before your fee was received by me. Make sense? You can mail your cash or check to:

                                                                  Jani Dittman
                                                                  304 N. Pinedale Way
                                                                  Eagle, ID  83616

There will be three cash prizes, one for the top exerciser, and a drawing for the next two winners.  In the event that we have a tie for the top exerciser, we will have a separate drawing for just those contestants.  The amount of the cash prizes will depend on the number of people who join the contest, the more the merrier!  So invite all of your friends, family, and relatives, and remember they do not have to live in the area.  Send them an e-mail and/or post on your facebook this blog address for the details:  www.healthyholidays.blogspot.com

  2. Yep! As long as you get your heart rate up, or walk at an intensity you feel is hard to somewhat hard. Walking can be a great form of exercise.

  3. Question: When does this end? Because January 1 is Saturday, so are we having the raffle Sunday, January 2 or Saturday, January 1. Sorry, just wondering :)
